(CH) The Up Devon Belle (1954)
This scenario is for the West of England Mainline - SR/BR (S) PHASE 2.
The route can be found on the Golden Age Developements site.
Description
Summer of 1954 and soon the Devon Belle will be dis-continued. Today you will drive Merchant Navy 35026 on the 1st leg of the run from Exeter Central as far as Yeovil Junction. This is an un-assisted 12 coach load of over 500 tons and will not be easy.
For Information
The Locomotive condition is set at 4 and the scenario was tested with the manual fireman. Maintaining the boiler and keeping a reasonable speed is difficult and twice I miscalculated the boiler level, running dry. The switchback nature of the route can give mis-leading levels. More experienced drivers may not have a problem.
Duration 60 minutes.
