Mount Shasta Line Enhancement

Mount Shasta Line is a beautiful route in reality and in sim as well. I hope you will get whole new experience of the route with this patch.

What was changed:

  • Applied Armstrong Powerhouse weather pack
  • Added support for Krellnut's Freight Sounds
  • Default SD40T-2 was swapped to RRMods SP GP40-2.
  • Score system has been fixed, so it is still possible to get 1000 points in scenarios. But with this new engine some scenarios could be a challenge.
  • Cars couplers have been fixed, so now consist should not break randomly, causing a disaster.

If you dont like default RRMods GP40-2 sounds, you can apply this patch to change them to SS.

Requirements

LPSimulation SD9 Enhancement Pack.7z

This dependency is optional, but highly recommended.

Installation Instructions

  1. Install Dependencies
  2. Unzip the patch into your RailWorks directory.

=== Important note!!! ===

LPSimulation pack contains InstallMe.bat. This script extracts everything from original Shasta pack, which makes a lot of files lying around in your Assets\JL\Shasta directory.
But in fact it is needed to extract just one file - RailVehicles\Diesel\SD9\Engine\EngineScript.out
You can either do it by hand or edit provided InstallMe.bat.

In latter case replace its contents with this line:

7za.exe x -aos	"JL\Shasta\ShastaAssets.ap" -oJL\Shasta RailVehicles\Diesel\SD9\Engine\EngineScript.out

Then you can execute InstallMe.bat, as it is written in the manual.

For sopme reason the SD9 doesn't appear. Just the couplers.

This means game was not able to find engine model SD9E.GeoPcDx
Had you run Install.bat script after copying files of SD9 enhancement?

Sure did. Multiple times. What files need to be copied over when the install bat is run? I may have to do this manually.

I dont like provided Bat file. It extracts everything from .ap file. I have corrected it. Only one file needs to be extracted in fact...

Can you please try doing the following:

  1. Removing everything installed in Assets/JL/Shasta EXCEPT ShastaAssets.ap
  2. Copy files from LPSimulations to Railworks folder.
  3. Go to Assets/InstallMe.bat file, remove or comment out everything within and paste only this line without quotes:
    "7za.exe x -aos "JL\Shasta\ShastaAssets.ap" -oJL\Shasta RailVehicles\Diesel\SD9\Engine\EngineScript.out"
It should extract only EngineScript.out from ShastaAssets.ap.
  4. Then execute InstallMe.bat. It should correct the situation...
  5. Copy my patch over to Railworks folder.

If everything is ok, you can remove both InstallMe.bat and 7za.exe from Assets folder as you probably dont need them anymore.

BTW there is no SD9E.Geo file to be found. I only see the SD9.Geo file.

It is inside ShastaAssets.ap. Normally you should not care about it.

After taking a break for a few days, I finally got the SD9s to show. I'm a happy camper now, lol. Thank you for the help.
