This patch corrects the signalling across the WCML Midlands & Northwest v4 route by Alan Thomson Simulation. Please note that no signals have been replaced, this is purely patching the behaviour of existing signals utilising Armstrong Powerhouse's Signal Enhancement Pack.
This patch includes:
- Approach control for Crewe Station, reflecting the behaviour of signals as accurately as possible without replacing any of the signals completely.
- Added 'Flashing Yellow' approach for Kidsgrove on the Down.
- Placed a 'Force Red' Track Marker on the Norton Bridge East Chord, holding NS5694 at Danger, preventing the Split-Banner Repeater from showing a clear route for both routes at Yarnfield Junction.
- Corrected signalling approach sequences at Stafford Doxey Junction.
- Fixed approach control at Winwick Junction approaching on the Down.
- Fixed approach control at Golbourne Junction approaching on the Up.
- Fixed approach control at Wigan North Western into P1 & P6 from the Up Main.
- Added approach control at Farrington Junction (Release from Red/Yellow).
- Fixed approach control around Preston Ribble Junction.
Requirements

Required for the usage of the Force Red Track Marker at Yarnfield Junction and accurate approach control.

Thanks for this.
This route also does have a few more bugs in it.
I would need to run it again, And looking through it, Making notes to tell you exactly what bugs I found.
The route does not even show up at all in the RWInfo Tool. Which means there is something else wrong with it.
Hi Chris, more than welcome. The signalling had been driving me mental for ages - please do let me know what other bugs you find and if I can find a fix for them then I will implement it into a future update.
I haven't as yet touched any of the signalling North of Crewe but I'm pretty sure there is more work to be done - however the major details are what I covered here.
Will this impact any existing scenarios please?
It shouldn't do, all I've changed is the way the signals behave via the route editor. I could've changed some of the signals themselves, specifically the ones on the Down Slow and Down Fast into Crewe - as they need a Double Theatre box not single. But doing this would've broken scenarios.
So no, scenarios are fine.
Hello hello, for some reason on my copy of the the WCML missing link. It seems that the signals are Crewe are bugged where no matter where I path the train to pass or stop at Crewe, I will always enounter a red signal even though the pathing on the timetable said that its possible to do. See this video where i show different pathing and encountering a red signal at Crewe https://youtu.be/lJnvEcFTfu8.
Would this signalling patch help fix this issue?
(hope you can reply me).
