Welcome to the WCML south, one of the busiest and important routes in the UK. This timetable aims to create a summer timetable with accurate workings between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central and will utilise the Class 390 ‘Pendolino’, Class 350 ‘Desiro’, Class 710, LU 1972 Stock and Class 66 between 2021 and 2024.
Please note this is still a WIP, for now we have implemented a full 24 hour timetable for Avanti, LNWR and London Overground, services will be selected to give the most playability and variation of the modern timetables. Now that we have completed the core section of services we will consider adding London Underground Bakerloo Line and some freight services. As many of you already know the WCML is both busy and complex so we have taken great care to ensure every train is as accurate to timetables, however some creative liberty has to be taken to ensure everything runs properly within the sim.
Current Features:
Avanti West Coast
- 1tph to Glasgow Central via Trent Valley
- 3tph to Manchester Piccadilly
- 1tph to Liverpool Lime Street
- 2tph Express to Birmingham New Street
- 1tph Stopper to Birmingham New Street
- 2 hourly to Glasgow Central via Birmingham
- 2 hourly to Edinburgh Waverley via Birmingham
- Services to Blackpool North via Birmingham
London North Western Railway
- 1tph to Crewe
- 2tph to Birmingham New Street
- Services to Northampton
- 2tph to Milton Keynes Central
- 2tph to Tring (Increasing to 3 or 4 during peak times)
London Overground
- 4tph Between Euston and Watford Junction in each direction
Southern
- 1tph Between Wembley Central and Milton Keynes Central in each direction
Plans for the future:
- Simplified workings for LU 1972 Stock between Queens Park and Harrow & Wealdstone
- Comprehensive freight timetable featuring Class 66
- Summer and Winter only railtours
- RHTT during relevant months
This is our first time creating a timetable so there may be some bugs or issues that we are currently unaware of (there are simply too many services to test everyone!). We hope that you do enjoy this timetable and we are open to feedback or ideas as to what the community would like to see implemented to create a realistic and vibrant West Coast Mainline. Enjoy!
IMPORTANT NOTES
- London Overground features 2 stock moves from Willesden to Euston in the morning, the current timeable only has one which we have presumed runs as a double set into Euston, we unfortunately havent been able to implement this therefore we have added another stock move to ensure that the first train of the day has a unit.
- Currently all formations for the 390 will still be reversed this is due to a current limitation with the new patch from DTG, when we tried to flip them this is what was causing derailments at Euston due to the front of the train embedding into the buffer stop. We are awaiting a fix from DTG on this, then we can implement correct formations. We would like to thank
Perks390 for advising us how to correct these formations, we will implement this following an update from DTG.
- We have experienced a possiblity of some potential crashes, we are unable to confirm fully but have a suspicion it is being cause by the auto announce mod. This may be the way we have programmed the dispatch in Euston but when we tried another method all trains decided to depart with their doors still fully open! safe to say this way a funny sight but not very realistic, we will continue to look into this in the future.
Avanti Services are now 9 & 11 car, we have added these randomly as there is no set formations that services run, aka the sets are different day by day and Euston is known for swapping trains last minute! We have encountered numerous issues when creating this timetable and safe to say it has made us tear our hair out sometimes but we are exceptionally pleased to finally be able to release this into the community. It started as a scenario creation and grew into a full timetable so we hope you enjoy driving, or spotting, as much as we do! We would like to finally thank everyone who has left us comments of appreciation or things they would like to be included, we will look into some of these in due course. Thank you and enjoy!
This timetable is compatible to work alongside the WCML/S EP mod!

Great timetable. Finally correct formations
Formations facing the correct direction, with first towards Euston, is work in progress right now, they decide to flip themselves in the portals most the time back to the wrong direction.
Thanks. Just completed a service from EUS-MKC for Crewe. Well done so far though. Can't wait to see what you both produce next
I'm not sure if you've fixed the issue of the trains flipping in the portals, if not then the solution should be to check the "reverse from portal" checkbox.
Thank you! I will look at this now :D Update = This has worked to flip the services, Thank you so Much!
Thank you !!
Great seeing loads of 8 car 350s kicking about.
Just a quick one, the PIS boards at Euston list the first calling point as London Euston (where you are already at).
This is a known issue, it was between having that and having to close the doors before a green signal, which is unrealistic, doors close once the signal goes green, I'm trying to find a solution to make both possible. Due to the tightness of the timetable we cant have the light go green the second you spawn in as it blocks up the inbounds too much. It was decided to have the PIS be a bit weird rather than the annoyance of the signals/blocking up and delaying inbound services.
Dispatch beyond checkbox will fix the issue of the signals not clearing, if possible use it on both the go-to and load instructions so you don't come in on red. If not, then just use it on the load instruction. If the dwell is a long time, you can untick the "close doors to complete" checkbox and the instruction will complete with doors still open and signal should clear.
I have been using the dispatch beyond, except for departing euston because 2 minutes at the start of the service can be the difference of trains getting in on time, I was considering having the close door unticked and just not have a lock door instruction (should be self explanatory) and yeah would fix the PIS too, Ill be looking at that after the next update (TBD), note: isn't the issue with this that the AI will leave when the doors are partially open
It shouldn't do, I haven't noticed it in the timetables I've created doing so but I'd have to double check. The other option is to have a wait instruction instead, with a lock doors to complete checkbox ticked.
I tried last night, but the 350 drives off with the doors open and never closes xD I'm going to leave as is for now, we want to avoid locking doors for a green signal as much as we can
Fantastic. Any chance of replacing all of the 377s with the recently released 377/7 mod?
I will look into this as a possibility when we start adding the 377s
Thanks for this.
Fantastic mod! Can't wait to see what it's like when it's finished.
Is there a chance the 350 services are being made to 8-12 cars long as it is IRL?
They should all be 8-12 cars at the moment, with one 4 car
Alright, thanks!
This is a great improvement to the original timetable, will you still continue with this timetable even after Fawx release his timetable as part of the WCML enhancement pack, if you do I reckon you should set the date different, like 2014-2019 in the virgin era
Hi there, thank you! At the moment we are planning to continue with this timetable until completion we are hoping to add some variation that will allow the ability for people to use either timetable depending on what they would like to drive. As for another era, we are focusing purely on the timetable at the moment however once completed we may explore other options but I do agree a Virgin Trains era would be exciting!
Just as a note on the above, Thank you! I started this timetable as a personal project when I was making a scenario for Riley and got a little carried away xD I was aware of Fawx's one (which I'm excited for since their Fife EP was incredible), Completing the timetable only feels right, It is my first attempt using the editor in a proper way rather than just messing around to see how it works, this gives me more ability to make more things in the future (hopefully).
No problem! You've both done an inredible job I'm very excited for what both of you have cooking up for us in the future :D
2F23 (one a day London-St Albans Abbey) shouldn't be 8 carriages, It should be 4. And is one of the only booked 4 cars on LNWR (as far as im aware)
Yes it should be 4, the split seems to be incorrect, ill look in to it, that should have been the four car I mentioned previously D:
Ah right, thanks!
Please can you make the Train services run at 100% line speed in the TT editor.
At the moment the 390 for example run at 90% (default) line speed ie 110mph instead of 125 mph.
Thanks.
The AI is set to 100% on all services, the speed inaccuracy of the 390 is a DTG side issue, the AI (on the default timetable also) run at the regular speed limits rather than the EPS limits, I have been trying to find solutions but none have worked so far, it is one of those issues that have been bugging me, It would be amazing visually to have 390's doing 125 through stations showing full tilt
hey there, Im getting a game crash everytime when driving the 350. When driving the 390 there is no problem at all.
Hi, we have updated the file give this new one a go I have heard problems with the 390 but not the 350, if you are running any other mods I would disable them all and check it is still crashing but hopefully this new update will sort issues for you :)
Just downloaded the new update and its works perfectly now. Thank you so much!
Hi, thanks so much for your great work. A really, really important contribution.
Whereas you as creative minds are of course fully in charge, and some creative liberty is clearly required to make sure everything runs, I do think that the aim "to ensure every train is as accurate to the timetable" does not sit well together with the decision to extend the 377 runs to Miton Keynes. I hope that once addiitonal playing opportunities for the 377 become available (for example if someone was to produce a timetable for earlier years as well at some point), this decision will be reversed. I suppose one option would also be to "fork" the timetable, so to produce a separate version for those that value 100% realism. But again, all entirely up to you - I just wanted to ensure that this opinion is not lost.
Hi, Yes we did have a discussion about this and have decided to take a more broad approach to the naming of the timetable, when we first began it was a project so we could both learn the editor as we had never used it before but overtime grew into modelling it off of the 2024 timetable, we thought we would release it to see what people would think. Since then we have wanted to add some more variety in hence the introduction of the 377's to Milton Keynes. Therefore we have decided to take out any specific year this timetable is based and rename it to a modern WCML timetable using parts of previous timetables we think will create the most variety :)
That of course is a perfectly sensible approach as well! Again, thanks so much for your brilliant contribution.
Hello again, I've may have noticed a possible mistake in the timetable, there's the 9S55 London Euston to Glasgow Central and then theres the 9S60 from London Euston to Edinburgh, I looked at RTT and the 9S60 shouldn't exist at that particular time and day, I could be wrong though so please do feel free to correct me!
9S60 should be the 1016 from Euston (if the name of the service is incorrect I will go in and fix that) you will probably find it twice in the list, due to the amount of services I couldn't check every single one, but I am retroactively fixing them as I see them
We've found the issue, simple error, 9S60 formed from the wrong service and forgot to update the times have just fixed and should be done for next update
That's great to hear thanks guys :)
found 2 bugs, couldnt get a screenshot of the other but, 710s have their pantographs up when doing watford DC services, and sometimes when turning around keep their headlights on at the back.
Hello, I've not noticed the headlights being on, but the pantograph thing is something I was investigating. It seems the AI chooses which power mode it wants when it can, but I am continuing to look into it at the moment.
Love this mod, thanks guys!
I love this mod! Great to have correct timings and formations rather than only seeing 4 cars for LNWR.One suggestion though regarding the stock, it would be nice to have the 805's in a timetable for services to Holyhead and Chester, and also class 323's replicating the 730 test runs for LNWR as well.
Will there be any future updates coming to the timetable?
This package seems to have goto sleep. If the author sees this msg, when can we expect another update?
Thanks In-advance
