This is a small enhancement mod for the New Journey Expansion DB BR 423. It removes decals which are only used on Munich's refurbished units and instead adds the correct ones, changes headlights from LEDs to old-style ones and adds an additional variant with first class sections at the end cars. All these changes are only on the exterior.

Love this, makes it so much more enjoyable to drive. Especially love the new headlights, makes a big difference.
Hey just as a headsup: When I install this mod, for some reason all the westbound BR423 services are missing their ambient sounds. I've tested it several times now, always the same S19 service to Düren and everytime the mod is installed the 423 only makes the whining noises of the electric motors. But no ambient sounds like the vibrating of the cab or wind noises and so on. Deinstall the mod and everything is fine again and works as it should. Each time I start the S19 westbound to Düren and drive up to 80kph and leave the throttle in neutral. With your mod installed its as quiet as it can be, whereas without your mod theres wind noises, you can hear the cab rattling and so on. Oddly enough I did not discover this problem when driving eastbound services, with or without your mod. Maybe you can look into this? Would be a shame as I really like the changes especially the headlights. But without the sound on half the services its really unenjoyable to drive :o
Hi, I've noticed that myself, however restarting the service almost always helped getting rid of this bug. I usually start on foot instead of starting a service directly, so that may influence that too. Unfortunately, there isn't a way for me to fix this, but maybe the unofficial editor will at some point get an update which fixes this.
Hi Alexander, thanks for the feedback. By restarting you mean pressing ESC and just restarting the scenario basically? Starting on foot is something I rarely do, so theres that. But you have no idea why that is the case? Because the weirdest part for me is the fact that it only appears on the westbound services :D
Yes, that is the method I use to restart. Unfortunately, I am not aware of the exact cause why this happens, but this happening only sometimes (at least for me) definitely makes it weirder.
Yep, and it only happening to services that are departing Köln Hbf is the weirdest thing of it all. If in general it was sometimes just working and sometimes not, but this... :D

May I ask, i was looking at those screenshots, apparently my train does not have the "S12" on the destination board in the front, do you know any mods that fix this for the New Journey Expansion version of the 423?

Unfortunately, they only show up for the player if you select it as a destination.
I've tried it out, downloaded everything and it still doesn't work, even when setting destinations manually from inside the train. I don't own any routes that include the 423, nor any other German routes(yet), only the default route and the New Journey Expansion, maybe thats why? Confused
I'm afraid I can't help with that. I'd suggest you should ask in that mod's comments, I'm sure they can help with that.
