Introduction
Hey there, it's me, FreddieTheShepherd, and welcome to my first big mod release! Since the release of this mod a lot things happened, the biggest was to become part of BPH, who know owns this mod!^^
The Bahnstrecke Salzburg-Rosenheim is one of my absolute favourite routes. This is mainly because of my love to the Salzburg-Freilassing area and my fascination for Austria in TSW. But in the early days, as I discovered how the Lokmuseum Freilassing looks for example, or how weird the fortress Hohensalzburg looks, I decided to use the relatively new PC Editor and it’s ability to create scenery overlays for routes. Everything began wit updating the Lokmuseum Freilassing only a bit, adding lights to the Europark building and adding the forgotten “IDEAL” and this pack grew over the months,
adding more and more features that expand areas, add more realistic signs and many more. Another advantage of this Mod is, that you don’t need anything, only the base route Salzburg-Rosenheim.
The 2024 Upgrade Pack
In addition to the Scenery-Enhancements, I also provide a 2024-Update pack which adds some things that got added in real life since 2013, the year in which Salzburg-Rosenheim is set. This pack is not including the scenery enhancements, so you need both mods for the best effect if you want to play in 2024. If not, only activating the normal scenery enhancements is your thing to do!
What has been added?
**Salzburg Hbf:**
-Added over 15 randomized ÖBB announcements which play randomly, provided by www.eisenbahn-content.at
-Added waiting boxes, more information boards and destination boards
-Opened Salzburg Hbf’s Schallmoos Entrance via teleporters, improved scenery there
-Opened Salzburg Hbf’s main hall, although not so beautiful due to limitations by the game
-Added night lights to the colorful apartments
-Added and replaced new station signs, added orange arrows and exit signs
**Salzburg City & Suburbs**
-Opened Salzburg-Mülln-Altstadt to the promenade, you can now walk up to the Müllner-Steg bridge along the river Salzach
-Improved Salzburg Altstadt & Fortress Hohensalzburg, added missing main cathedral of Salzburg, missing mountains in the distant, missing scenery
-Added night lights to the Europark Shopping centre
-Added Swedish “IDEAL” to Taxham-Europark
-Added & Replaced station signs, added orange arrows, exit symbols and missing “S-Bahn Salzburg”-Logos
**Freilassing**
-Added missing BR 144-locomotive
-Added missing buildings opposite the street of Freilassing station building
-Improved Lokmuseum Freilassing: ground textures, added missing building, enhanced turntable area, added missing Köf-II-locomotive
-Added a moving park train to Lokwelt Freilassing (Originally planed to be rideable)
-Added a plane flying over Freilassing station (coming IRL from Salzburg airport)
**Across the route**
-Added 13 history boards, where you can learn about the the route’s history, landmarks, etc.
-Added cows & tractors across the whole route
-Added a hot air balloon near Hufschlag
-Added a missing church in Bad Endorf
**Salzburg-Rosenheim 2024 Upgrade Pack:**
-Added fake tracks to Salzburg Hbf
-Added modern glass building to Salzburg Hbf
-“Opened” Salzburg Liefering station
-Added blue/white retaining walls to Freilassing
-Added platform 96 and 97 to Freilassing
-Painted Freilassing station white & added a construction site

Known issues
Well, with scenery overlays, you can’t change anything with the original scenery, so there are a few incorrect things, like people walking through the construction site at Freilassing in the 2024 Pack, Lokwelt Freilassing being full with incorrect fences and random stuff, or many more, but this isn’t changeable, sorry. But, these are only small things which don’t matter in normal gameplay.
Installation and Use-Instructions
Download the .pak’s and place them into your “DLC” folder, which is located in your documents.
Ingame, you have to go to the Mastery overlays and activate the Scenery Enhancements overlay which you want. Note, that you must also activate the normal Scenery Enhancements if you want to activate the 2024 Upgrade pack to get the best User experience.
Future Plans
Future plans are actually the things, which you would like to see – yes, you heard right! If you have any suggestions that sound doable, please tell me! I would also be happy to update the park train a bit with more realistic models or working seats.
Also, opening the Elisabethkai and fixing the park train braking together will be things to be done in the future, as well as improving the Köf-II-loco and the BR 144.

The upgrade is really well done and makes it a lot of fun to discover the new details. The small railway in the museum and many other additions are excellent! Thank you for the great work. Recently, I watched a ride along the route, and I noticed that in some sections – especially in forested areas – a bit more greenery would be nice. A bit denser vegetation would enhance the atmosphere and make the route feel even more realistic. Of course, only if that fits with your ideas for future plans.
Das Upgrade ist wirklich sehr gelungen und macht großen Spaß beim Entdecken der neuen Details. Die kleine Bahn im Museum und viele weitere Ergänzungen sind hervorragend! Danke für die tolle Arbeit. Kürzlich habe ich mir eine Mitfahrt auf der Strecke angesehen, und mir ist aufgefallen, dass an manchen Abschnitten – besonders bei Waldstücken – etwas mehr Begrünung schön wäre. Etwas dichterer Bewuchs würde der Atmosphäre guttun und die Strecke noch realistischer wirken lassen. Natürlich nur, wenn das zu deinen Ideen für zukünftige Pläne passt.

Great work here
Hello. The enhancments do not show up in timetable/free roam. And where to install them, as i dont have a folder DLC in Documents, only path for me was C:\Games\Train Sim World 5\WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Content\DLC
I would appreciate any help resolving this issue. Best regards!
That's exactly the folder you have to put it in.
After that, you have to tick it on in your Mastery rewards.
I have already put them and have ticked the boxes, however there are no visible changes around when i enter the timetable/freeroam
i have the same problem...
Salzburg Liefering is still closed
It's not possible to delete a few assets like the construction things. I added therefore as many "normal" assets as possible, see the workers etc. as repair staff ;-)
Please remove that inaccurate furry dog since it's unrealistic

I guess I have a contact who would want to do that in the future, but this is too unsure to say more about that^^
Hi, I'm a new TSW player, so I wanted to ask. To install this mod I have to place the downloaded files in the DLC folder in the files, which I didn't find. Sometimes it works by creating the folder, but here it didn't work for me. I also wanted to ask where the Mastery overlays are in the game, I didn't see it anywhere in the settings. Thanks a lot for your help and patience...

es wäre noch cool wenn du irgendwie die "Stieglbahn" freischalten könntest. also die strecke die kurz nach der station Aiglhof stadtauswärts nach links abbiegt. auf der map ist die komplette strecke enthalten aber nicht erreichbar.
Also ein Vorhaben von uns ist es schon, nur muss man natürlich schauen, wie weit das auch möglich ist und auch nach etwas aussieht, mit einem Overlay ist das alles ein wenig schwieriger als es sein müsste, aber einfach mal die Augen offen halten ;-)
It's ok. The airplane sound is played far too often and is constantly repeated in a loop. This is better solved in other DLCs.
The main station announcements are also played far too often and can be heard just as loudly on the train, not very realistic. I haven't discovered the furry dog yet, maybe it would be better if you left your fetish out of a game. Due to the annoying sounds, I unfortunately have to deactivate it.
