This mod replaces the default MBTA: Commuter F40PH-3C horn with the default F40PH-3C horn from Boston - Providence.
I have added some extra reverb to the external horn, as well as mixed in a small piece of the MBTA Commuter F40PH-3C internal hornsound with the Boston Sprinter F40PH-3C hornsound to include the horn-lever clicks and release when sounding the horn in internal view. Surprisingly the Boston Sprinter F40PH-3C horn automatically mixes well when installed with the newer MBTA Commuter F40PH-3C.
NOTE: This mod will NOT work with the Boston Sprinter F40PH-3C, as that locomotive is outdated and unsupported by DTG's standards, whereas the MBTA Commuter F40PH-3C cab car is currently and continously being supported and updated by DTG.
Version and Release History
v1.0 - Released 3/6/25 - First Release: Replaced sound samples of the default MBTA Commuter F40PH-3C horn to include the Boston Sprinter F40PH-3C horn. Edited and adjusted sound files of the external hornsound to include some extra reverb, as well as the internal hornsound to include and mix in the horn-level clicks and release from the default MBTA Commuter F40PH-3C internal horn into the Boston Sprinter F40PH-3C internal hornsound.
