The 423 that comes with the Kinzigtalbahn has a lot of inaccuracies. Time to fix some of those to make it more realistic.
Changes:
- added RMV and DB Bahn logos
- changed icons on the doors
- changed interior doors color to red
- changed headlight textures to old lights
- changed PIS color to green
- removed LZB components in the cab
Frankfurt-Fulda EEP Compatibility
With the update on February 22nd 2025, the unmodernised 423 is now additionally a variant. This has been done in preparation for the upcoming FTF EEP from the team at Bahnpfuschhochschule, mainly thanks to Jusi. This means that the enhancements are applied to both the vanilla 423 for those who still use that, aswell as the new variant for the substitution of the 423s in the EEP.

In response to BPH making the modernised 423 for their future Frankfurt-Fulda EP, the following additional changes have been made to this mod:
- added RMV logos to the front of the end cars
- removed RMV logos on the doors
- removed colorful stripe
- new "press door button" and wheelchair icons
- changed headlight textures from LED to old lights
- changed PIS color to green-ish
Known Issues / Leftover Inaccuracies
- DB Bahn logos on the doors have a noticable low resolution
- the entire seat layout is incorrect
- PZB indicators don't turn off when turning off PZB

Fantastic mod! This is exactly what was missing to make Frankfurt feel even more realistic. Overall, really great work. The only thing I noticed is that the RMV logo is missing on the end sides, at the driver’s cabs. Was that intentional?

Großartige Mod! Genau das hat noch gefehlt, um Frankfurt noch realistischer zu gestalten. Insgesamt wirklich eine Top-Arbeit. Das einzige, was mir aufgefallen ist: An den Endseiten, also an den Führerständen, fehlt jeweils das RMV-Logo. Ist das so gewollt?
I am aware about the RMV logo missing there, it is also described in the mod description under the "Known Issues / Leftover Inaccuracies" section, pretty much the first line. Luckily someone else will help out with that, as it requires a bit more than just popping that on the main texture (it would be mirrored on one side, which wouldn't be great), as I am not experienced enough to do that myself. That update should be available on about friday next week (15th).

would be a bit of a bad idea since that'd apply it to every 423, not randomizes it between GTO and IGBT as it is irl. Frankfurt only has IGBT 423, which is why this was a good opportunity
Hey Myron, maybe at some point, you could create a pack for the Munich vehicles. While the game does include the modern version, the Bahnland Bayern logo is missing. It would also be cool if there were an older version as well. Maybe that's an idea for you!
Why the wrong liveries? This version drove until 2015... The version before the update was the right one.

wikipedia says the modernization of 423s began 2018 and finished 2021, so it's all correct.
Well, apparently Wikipedia isn't correct about that. I'm local here, so I should know when everything was modernized (RMV-Stripe, LED ZZA, LED lights, new FIS, new door close tone, etc.). The modernization of 423s began 2014 and finished 2015. The Wifi logo came on about 2019.
well, there is not much I can do anyway. Bahnpfuschhochschule is making the modernized 423 as I wrote in the changelog, if I would do the modernized 423 again my mod would be useless at some point due to that. so I believe it's better like this.

Mit dem FTF EEP der Bahnpfuschhochschule wird das Teil ja modernisiert zurück auf die Gleise kommen, keine Sorge.

Hallo, kann man die ZZA Farbe selbstständig wieder auf orange stellen oder kannst das nur du ändern? Wenn es nicht viel arbeit ist, könntest du vllt bitte eine Version mit orangener Schrift hochladen ?
Du kannst sie gerne selber ändern wenn du herausfindest wie man das tut, aber ich belasse die Farbe vorerst so, vorallem weil, wie schon oft auf dieser Seite erwähnt, die BPH mit ihrem zukünftigen Frankfulda-EEP eigenständig eine richtige modernisierte 423 herbringt, wobei meine hingegen die unmodernisierte Variante darstellen soll.

you can install both. one applies the changes to the Frankfurt-Fulda 423 itself, one adds the variant (with the changes aswell)

The sounds are no longer part of this mod. The upcoming new soundmod might work for TSW2, but I can't test it myself.
