These mod paks aim to adjust several poorly or inadequatley mixed sounds on a few of the US locomotives, adjusted to both my personal liking and to reflect how these locomotives sound irl.
Metrolink F59PHR Loco DLC:
-Decreased volume of the internal enginesounds to reduce bass and prevent audio clipping (this is incredibly helpful when playing this locomotive with headphones on)
-Adjusted the volume of the interior hornsound to be more audible when running the locomotive on higher notches.
-Decreased volume of external bogie running sounds when running the locomotive at higher speeds.
-Edited bell audio from mono to stereo
-Increased volume of the external HEP generator.
MBTA Commuter F40PH-3C:
-Increased volume of the external HEP generator.
-Increased volume of the external enginesounds.
San Bernardino Line MP36PH-3C:
-Increased volume of the external enginesounds.
-Adjusted the volume of the interior hornsound to be more audible when running the locomotive on higher notches.
-Slightly adjusted the volume of the exterior hornsound to be more audible to accomodate the amplification of the external enginesounds.
-Increased volume of the external HEP generator.
MBTA Commuter HSP46:
-Increased volume of the internal enginesounds.

CTC-3 Horn sounds isnt proper for the MBBs those files are meant for the bombardier cab cars. Why they were left out.
Correct, though I still wanted to include them since they were in the files anyways.
do you think we could get beter mixing, horn sounds, and sounds for the traction motors for the Acela?
If you're referring to the default Acela sounds, probably not, since I use CTSL's Acela Enhancement Pack.
If you're referring to the mixing on that specific mod, that is up to the creator of that mod to decide, since I don't work on other people's mods.
Is it really necessary to have eight leading exclamation points?
Yes since the number of leading exclamation points in a file causes the pak file to "overlap" any other installed mods for that specific loco or rollingstock. If you wish to remove them once you have downloaded them, then feel free to do so.
How do these mods Differ or do they and they work together, When I put the mods from here into the DLC folder they did not overwright, I'm not sure what I should or not do. Also when I search "CTSL Railfan" the mods are for TSC except for BNSF ES44C4 Sound Patch.
The two you have flagged are for separate versions of the vehicle; one for Cajon Pass and the other for Horseshoe Curve
^correct, I had those files separate for a reason, in case one prefers the K5HL hornsound on the CJP ES44 instead of the HSC ES44 and vice versa.
Also I would recommend deleting both the "!!!!!!!!PMP-SMH-SD70ACE-HORNBELLAMP" and the "!!!!!!!!PMP-CJP-SD70ACE-HORNANDBELLAMP" .pak files since those are the outdated versions of the SD70ACe horn amplification mod that is listed on here.
Hopefully I'm allowed to put links to other mods here, but this is the Acela Enhancement Pack you're looking for: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c3-train-sim-world/c19-patches/i4690-amtrak-acela-enhancement-pack
Okay thank you both for the reply and and for the info. Also, I do have that one you linked installed already, not sure why it did not come up in my search, I thought maybe it was a different one.
Amazing job, especially with the F40s. Do you think there's any way you could create a mod that fixes the marker light color on the CTC-3? They are bright white when they're red in real life of course
If I have time, I'll look into it
As stated by someone else, the CTC-3 sounds are actually meant for a CTC-1B, is there a way we could get better sounding CTC-3 sounds too? I would do it myself but I have no idea how to sound mod lol
Nope sorry, I don't live anywhere close to MBTA to record sounds and implement them, nor do I have any sounds of the CTC-3 in general
Nice
Not seeing what thhe update is. The mod file dates have not changed.
Is it that this was removed from above in the Requirments?
"BOW CTC-3:
- MBTA Commuter: Boston - Framingham/Worcester DLC"
Yes, I have made the CTC-3 horn separate from these mods, as well as the BOW F40PH BPE horn which should be up tomorrow.
Okay, very good. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I did grab the "CTC-3 Horn Mod" again. Thank you for making and sharing the mods.
'few more exclamation marks, please? I feel like it's not enough :P
You know, I can probably just replace the entire file names with exclamation marks if I'd like ;)

The default horn has a weird sound to it now, it has a odd echo sound and a lower pitch. The bell sound is much better though. If you did this Horn and E-Bell mod for the UP heritage pack you would be my hero since most of the UP heritage units have E-bells not mechanical ones
Both the UP and BNSF SD70ACe's actually use two different types of hornsounds used on this locomotive in game that are selected at random when placed onto a route. This mod only uses one of the two hornsounds that are found in these files. I will get to doing the UP heritage units eventually once I purchase the locomotive pack.
Edit 12/17/24: I have since updated the mod and decided to include both hornsound files for the sake of consistency.
Update: I have included the UP heritage units
The hornsound file issue is back with this update. Is there a way to change the bell sound for the UP Heritage to a electronic bell?
Yes, as I've stated, I've included both hornsound files for consistency. Unfortunately, due to the way that the sound cues are set up and my limited knowledge on how to edit and modify said cues, I cannot change the bell on each individual heritage unit. I CAN put an e-bell in the heritage pack, however the e-bell sound would apply to ALL of the up heritage units instead of individual units. For now, the regular steel bell is implemented in the pack, if I decided to do a seperate version with the e-bells, I will, but as stated, consistancy.
